In 1990, before many motorists even had concerns about traffic congestion, transportation officials had the foresight to develop the Paving The Way... Program. This program was created in 1990 as a cooperative effort among the Federal Highway Administration, the Ohio Department of Transportation, and the city of Columbus to improve planning and communication of construction projects. This is the nation's first program to address construction management and communication on a regional, rather than project basis. One of the major objectives of the program is to ensure that drivers experience the least possible inconvenience while traveling in and around Columbus.

Paving The Way... is your one-stop-shop for road construction information. Paving The Way... works to keep motorists informed on the progress of transportation construction throughout Central Ohio, not in just one jurisdiction.

Personal service is the cornerstone of the program. Staff is available at all times during regular working hours to answer questions and listen to comments from the general public. You can reach Paving The Way... at 614-645-PAVE, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
