Go Bus!

Share the Ride! Beat the traffic by carpooling or taking COTA. Or, better, yet, Pedal Instead! Leave your car at home when you come to the game. FREE bike corrals are found at OSU home games and select central Ohio events.

Below are some tips to help you beat the traffic as you participate in one of central Ohio's greatest traditions, a Buckeye Home Football Game.

1. Use COTA. COTA may be the best way to beat the traffic at Buckeye Home Games. Express service to the games is available from three hours before kickoff until two hours after the game is over. See COTA's Gameday Brochure for more details and various COTA routes to the game.

2. Carpool. Beat the costs of parking and gas and enjoy the company of friends by carpooling.

3. Pedal Instead. Consider biking to day games. Pedal Instead provides secure bike Parking at Ohio State Home Games. Visit Pedal Instead on the web for more information or to volunteer to help. Only highly experienced cyclists should bike if the game will end after sunset.

4. Arrive Early. To beat much of the congestion and get an early choice of parking spots, arrive 2 1/2 or more hours before kickoff. See OSU's Transportation and Parking Site for a map, additional information and prices. Watch carefully for no parking signs.

5. Know before you go. Check Paving the Way's Website or Facebook Page to see what construction projects may be in your way. The ramp from SR 315 to Medical Center Drive ramp usually closes about four and a half hours before the game. The Lane Avenue and Ackerman ramps at SR 315 as well as lane Avenue itself are closed as needed to manage backups. Remember, the Dodridge Street bridge over the Olentangy River is closed through about October of 2012.

6. Be careful and patient. Drive safely and watch carefully for pedestrians and bicyclists.
