Beginning Monday (4/26), there will be lane restrictions on I-270 (south side of Columbus) between US 23 and I-71 for bridge widening. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction; however there will be a shift in traffic. In order to maintain those two lanes, drivers will be using the shoulders in both directions. Drivers should also be aware the speed limit will be reduced to 55 miles per hour in the work zone. Because the reduced speed and the shift in traffic, drivers should remain alert and give the workers your undivided attention. The widening of the bridges on I-270 is expected to be complete in September of 2011. (ODOT)
